Hollywood celebrities react to US Capitol violence

A number of Hollywood celebrities have taken to social media after supporters of US President Donald Trump violently stormed the Capitol on Wednesday to protest his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden, leaving many injured and four people dead.

Leading the messages were Chris Evans, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin who reacted to the incident on social media and called for a peaceful transition of power.

Along with Chris, Sean and Alec, many others including Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade and Tika Sumpter called into question how the incident response would have differed if the protesters were black.
